Disney’s Haunted Mansion

Have you seen Disney’s Haunted Mansion that came out last week? If you have, then there’s a good chance you may want to see the marketing piece that they teamed up with Zillow for. That’s right, Zillow doesn’t just market, homes, Realtors, or their own personal services. They also advertise for movies now as well. It’s a smart play by both Disney and Zillow to create buzz around the movie in a fun way. I’m sure after this every movie featuring a house as a sort of character of the movie will be jumping all over this.

Zillow’s listing for the haunted mansion includes all of the creativity and witty details that you would expect from a Disney ad. It goes into detail about eternal imprisonment, a space for seances, and even the on site cemetery. What we think is fun about the ad as Realtors, is that Disney provided Zillow with listing photos and stats. Of course it wouldn’t be a good listing without a “walk-through video” that links to the movie’s trailer.

Our team thought this was pretty fun. We see listings all the time and we have been through some scary “haunted houses” ourselves. Believe us, we could tell you some stories. We’ve been to houses with plenty of cobwebs, cemeteries in the front yard, even a grave right next to the family room window. It didn’t scare us off though. Fortunately for us, non of these houses have permanently imprisoned us. But even if they had, we would still have considered it our pleasure to have had the chance to help our clients with their real estate needs.
