The holidays are right around the corner and you’ve graciously volunteered to host the festivities. Is your house ready for company? Most of us, if we are being honest, would say “No.” Today we thought it would be helpful to provide you with a little checklist of things you can do to make sure your home is ready for the hoards of people that are about to descend on you. LOL! Just kidding, we know you love them (mostly).
Get Your House Ready for Company
Declutter
It’s going to be crowded enough without having extra stuff everywhere.
Clean
You don’t have to go crazy with it. After all, it’s just friends and family, but a little more than general cleaning is always a good idea.
Eliminate unnecessary items from your countertops
All the food needs somewhere to go.
Prep your guest bathroom
Let’s face it, your bathroom is going to see a lot of action. At the minimum, make it fresh, clean, inviting, and well-stocked with tp, soap, heigene products, and air freshener. Consider purchasing a new luxurious feeling hand towel. If you want to give people something to talk about though, try adding a bold statement piece or even make an eye spy game out of your bathroom with a framed list of things for people to find.
Stock your fridge
Have plenty of drink options as well as common ingredients that people might request or even forget to bring such as condiments, butter, milk, or eggs.
Empty your coat closet and have plenty of hangers
Put your coats somewhere else for the day so that guests can hang their own coats and you don’t have to run coat check. You have enough to do as it is.
We hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season, spent with all the people that you love! Thanks for reading!
